Elevator pitch for Christianity

Frank Turek once said: '' Most (apologetics) questions are easy to answer, they just aren't easy to answer in two minutes - and two minutes is what you often times get. " And this concept is true for many areas in academia and in life. But still, I will try  to answer today one of the biggest questions of my life: in under two minutes I will answer why I am a Christian, so hereby my Elevator pitch.

'' I see how many bad things I do in just one day—and not just me, but the whole world. Of course, there is the other side: I try to do many good things, but this does not remit the bad things. Yet even while doing bad things, I still want to go to heaven. Here I already see a contradiction: how can I, a person who does evil, go to a perfect place? I can only go there if somehow my evil is rightfully forgiven and washed away.

Here Christianity comes in, offering my Savior, Jesus Christ. But not so fast… why Jesus Christ?

Because the Bible is the most reliable book ever written. The Bible was written over more than two thousand years by around 40 different authors, and it still has internal consistency. Our Bible today is about 99% the same as the original manuscripts, with the remaining 1% consisting of trivial textual differences. Moreover, it has corroboration from different sources, even enemy sources.

In addition, the minimal facts case for Jesus leads us to the logical conclusion that Jesus indeed rose from the dead. Plus the fact that all naturalistic explanations for the resurrection fail. The crucifixion of Jesus is perhaps the most well-attested fact in history. The testimonies surrounding this event, including the resurrection, were written early and by eyewitnesses. The disciples changed their behavior drastically after Jesus supposedly appeared to them, and skeptics such as Paul converted to Christianity. Moreover, you are not prepared to die for something you believe to be a lie, and the disciples were prepared to die for Christianity while being in a position to know whether the resurrection was true.

So basically, the Bible is reliable, Jesus rose from the dead and saved me, and besides all this, Christianity gives the best answers to the most important questions in life: Who am I? What am I doing here? Is there life after death? Christianity gives us the most coherent worldview. "
